Desert Star Playhouse has announced its 2011 season of shows.  The theatre has added a 7th show in 2011.  Season tickets go on sale June 8 for current season ticket holders and June 22 to the general public.

Back From The Future: What Happens in 1985 Stays In 1985  (January 6 – February 26, 2011)  Average teenager Marvin McFlea has a crush on pop star Miley Cyrus, but what chance has he got with her?  So he travels back in time to 1985 to make his parents rich and famous.  That way, he’ll grow up to be someone important.  But his meddling upsets the space/time continuum!  Now he’s got to go Back from the Future to set things right.

Beverly Hillbillies 90210:  You Might Be A Redneck If...  (March 3 – April 23, 2011) Where does a hick go when he strikes it rich? Why, Beverly Hills of course.  But greedy Will E. Rottenfeller is not happy with his new neighbours and he wants them out.  However, the love struck teens are not ready to part so they strike up a plan! In the end Grandpa Rottenfeller shows everyone they are simply hillbillies at heart!

Sheer-Luck Holmes: Clueless Again!   (April 28 – June 11, 2011)  Before Batman & Robin…before Mulder & Scully…before Cagney & Lacey…there were the original crime solvers: Holmes & Watson!  In this hilarious whodunit, Holmes travels from the streets of London to the pyramids of Egypt to solve the “Case of the Man With The Abnormally Large Head.”  Will this show be a blast?  Elementary, my dear Watson!

Goldilocks Capone & The 3 Amigos  (June 16 – August 6, 2011)  Goldilocks Capone has the border town of Guano, Mexico under her  thumb.  No one can stand up to her and her evil henchman, El Gordito.  The beleaguered townspeople call for the help of those beloved south-of-the-border heroes: Jose, Pancho, and Steve… otherwise known as The 3 Amigos!

HUNK-cules: I’m Too Sexy For My Toga  (August 11 – September 24, 2011)  Faster than a thunderbolt, more powerful than the Trojan army, able to leap Mount Vesuvius in a single bound—it’s Arnold Schwartzenegger!  No, it’s Hercules, the first superhero.  Enjoy this comical look at the myth-adventures of the most legendary hero of ancient Greece.  And ladies: he’s a guy with a great bod in a skimpy outfit.  Need we say more?

Legally Brunette: Not All Dumbs Are Blonde  (September 28 – November 12, 2011)  Perky law school graduate Elle Woods has been hired to prosecute AJ Samson, a former NFL player accused of murdering his ex-wife.  But she’ll have to defeat Melvin Farkas, the famous—but crooked—defense attorney.  With a hilarious assortment of witnesses, including Napoleon Dynamite, it’s up to Elle to save the day.

It’s a Wonderful Life: Winging In the Holidays (November 17 – December 31, 2001)  George’s life seems anything but wonderful.  There’s a scandal in town, and he’s right in the middle of it!  It’s up to his guardian angel, Clarissa Oddbody, to help George see that the world is a better place because of him.  “At Desert Star, every time you laugh, an angel gets his wings.”
